Scandalous Coffee was born out of frustration — bags that looked beautiful but brewed harsh, acidic, and disappointing. Espresso that bit back. “Specialty” coffee that felt more complicated than enjoyable.
We didn’t want trendy.

So we studied it.
We attended professional cuppings. Trained our palate. Tasted dozens of coffees side by side to understand exactly what we loved — and what we didn’t.
Then we worked with our roaster through round after round of test batches. Nearly twenty variations came home to our kitchen table before we approved a single one.
